Our mission: every child belongs on the page
At Helpaboo, we believe every child should be able to open a book and find someone just like them.
For too long, children with disabilities and differences have been missing from the pages they colour, read and play with. A wheelchair, a walker, hearing implants, glasses, a white cane, ear defenders, an insulin pump, a prosthetic leg, a talking device or Down syndrome are part of everyday life for thousands of children. So they belong in everyday stories too.
That's why we made Helpaboo Together: colouring books where every kind of child is right in the middle of the fun, building sandcastles, baking cupcakes, scoring goals, splashing in puddles and blasting off to space. They aren't books about disability. They're books about childhood, and every child is part of it.
There are no names in our books. Every child writes their own name and super power on the first page, so the hero is always the one holding the crayons.
When a child sees themselves on the page, they learn that they belong. When their friends colour alongside them, they learn that different is normal, and different is wonderful. That's how inclusion starts: at the kitchen table, at nursery and in the classroom, one page at a time.
Our promise is simple. We'll keep drawing children of every ability, background and family, drawn with care and shown consistently and respectfully on every page, so that no child is left out of the picture.
Helpaboo represents all children. Every child belongs on the page.
Made in Scotland with love 💛
